SXSW has come and gone. This year I decided to take it easy and only work for a few publications – New York Times, Chinashop, and the Austin Chronicle. (RS emailed on Thursday, but at that point it was too late for me to change my shooting schedule). The highlight of my week was photographing Shepard Fairey (Obama/Hope poster fame) at the Red Bull Moon Tower. I wish I’d had more time to work on a portrait after, but I didn’t want to overwhelm him. Next time I think I’ll just keep shooting until my subject gets upset and storms off set.
I also really enjoyed seeing Nakia play at the Austin Muisc awards and the set the Decemberist played at Stubbs was cool.
