Norman Rockwell - Thanksgiving
Most of my families “secret recipes” come from the back of Cream of Mushroom soup cans. This one is a rare exception - it is from the back of a Jell-o packet. The resulting Jell-o is one of my favorite things to eat at the holidays! It is delisious on it’s own or with turkey + ham. I would include a picture, but it isn’t a very photogenic recipe - so please enjoy this Norman Rockwell painting instead.
Purple Jello
1 (#2) can dark cherries
1 c. crushed pineapple
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. black cherry Jello
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 c. fruit juice from cherries and pineapple (add water to make 2 c.)
2 (6 oz.) Cokes
1 c. chopped nuts
Heat the juice + water until it boils. Remove from heat and add gelatin.
In a separate bowl add pineapples and cream cheese together and beat until you have cream cheese splatters on the counters and cabinets (or until blended). Pour both mixtures into 9×13 pan. Add cherries. Mix gently. Add cola. Place nuts on top. Chill until congealed.

These are from yesterday. Lots more to edit. Just wanted to share these now.
These are from Sunday. The weather was AMAZING! The bride was GORGEOUS! There are LOTS more, but just in case the groom sees my blog I didn’t want to reveal too much about the dress.

Austin Four Seasons
The end of wedding seasons means the begining of DIY projects at the studio. The first project on my agenda was fixing the bathroom floors. When I moved into the studio I had vynil composite tile installed because it was cheap and fast. It looked ok for about a week before it started getting yucky. Fastforward a year and I put laminate floors in the studio, but I left the VCT in the bathroom because I was worried about mosture. I had planned on tiling the bathroom when I put in the laminate, but I havn’t found the time to do the porject until now. I wanted to use red glass tiles on the floor to compliment my sofa cushions, but at $12/ft I had to veto that idea. Instead I picked out a cute octagon and dot patter that was only $2.5/ft. I’ve never tiled anything before but I watched a couple of videos on the topic and it didn’t look too hard. It took about an hour to layout the tile and get the pieces cut to the right size. It took another how to gule the tile down. Grouting took about 2 hours and was really messy and a pain! I still need to finish the edges, but overall I’m very pleased with my work!
The Inn at Wild Rose Hall just southwest of Austin provided the perfect backdrop for Tricia and Miles wedding last weekend. This is my last wedding of the season and you can see more photos from this lovely event on my Austin Wedding Blog.
