Studio : Hexagon and Dot

The end of wedding seasons means the begining of DIY projects at the studio. The first project on my agenda was fixing the bathroom floors. When I moved into the studio I had vynil composite tile installed because it was cheap and fast. It looked ok for about a week before it started getting yucky. Fastforward a year and I put laminate floors in the studio, but I left the VCT in the bathroom because I was worried about mosture. I had planned on tiling the bathroom when I put in the laminate, but I havn’t found the time to do the porject until now. I wanted to use red glass tiles on the floor to compliment my sofa cushions, but at $12/ft I had to veto that idea. Instead I picked out a cute octagon and dot patter that was only $2.5/ft. I’ve never tiled anything before but I watched a couple of videos on the topic and it didn’t look too hard. It took about an hour to layout the tile and get the pieces cut to the right size. It took another how to gule the tile down. Grouting took about 2 hours and was really messy and a pain! I still need to finish the edges, but overall I’m very pleased with my work!hexagonanddottile

This looks fantastic! I love the black and white. Very cute, especially with those blue-green walls.
